Manila 3rd District Councilor Johanna Maureen Nieto-Rodriguez has announced her candidacy for a congressional seat in the 2025 elections under the Aksyon Demokratiko party.
She took her oath on Thursday, with former Manila City mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno, the party president, officiating the ceremony.
Aksyon Demokratiko emphasized its commitment to engaging the youth in governance, acknowledging their crucial role in shaping the nation’s future.
Moreno previously ran for president in the 2022 elections as a member of Aksyon Demokratiko, which was founded by Raul Roco, a presidential candidate in 2004.
In related news, former senator Antonio Trillanes IV has also joined the party and plans to run for mayor of Caloocan City in the upcoming midterm elections.
