Vice President Sara Duterte urged the Marcos administration not to be selective in its corruption investigations and to probe issues from all past administrations, not just her father’s.
She emphasized that corruption is a longstanding problem affecting multiple governments, including those of Aquino, Arroyo, and Marcos.
Duterte also supported Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla’s call for public access to officials’ asset declarations but stressed that investigations should be impartial, including scrutiny of Remulla’s own family.
She claimed to be a victim of political scapegoating and accused President Marcos of attacking political foes to distract from his administration’s lack of accomplishments.
Duterte made these remarks during a tree-planting event in Zamboanga City marking the one-millionth tree planted under her office’s PagbaBAGo campaign.
