VP DUTERTE DISTRIBUTES AID TO FAMILIES HIT BY FLOODS IN SURIGAO SUR

Vice President Sara Duterte visited Lanuza, Cortes, and Tandag City in Surigao del Sur on February 24 to distribute relief packs to families affected by Tropical Storm Basyang.

The Office of the Vice President provided essential supplies, including rice and non-food items, to hundreds of displaced residents. 

In Cortes, 1,300 families received aid at the municipal gymnasium, while 215 families in Lanuza and 55 families in Tandag were also assisted.

Duterte emphasized the OVP’s commitment to helping communities impacted by calamities and urged residents to follow safety advisories during typhoons.

Local officials thanked the vice president for personally visiting the affected areas, while recovery efforts, including relocation plans for flood-prone families, are ongoing.
