Team Pilipinas Enciende of Saint Pedro Poveda College achieved a major victory by winning gold at the International All Star Federation (IASF) Dance Worlds in Orlando, Florida, just days after securing a silver medal at the International Cheer Union (ICU) World Championships.
The team competed from April 25 to 27 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in the Open Hip Hop division, facing stronger and more experienced international squads.
Composed of 17 dancers aged 15 to 18, they outperformed 20 other groups from countries including the United States, Japan, Australia, and Canada to claim the world title.
Prior to their gold win, they finished second in the ICU Worlds Junior Hip Hop category held earlier that week at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
With back-to-back podium finishes, Enciende cemented its status as one of the Philippines’ top-performing dance teams on the global stage.
