House Deputy Speaker Ronaldo “Ronnie” Puno dismissed Cavite Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga’s move to impeach President Marcos, saying there is no valid reason to do so.
Puno praised Marcos’ performance as Chief Executive and doubted that Barzaga’s impeachment bid would gain any significant support in the House.
Barzaga had shown an impeachment complaint for “betrayal of public trust” in a recent vlog, but has yet to officially file it.
Puno said Marcos is focused on addressing key issues and finding solutions, making the impeachment grounds weak.
Despite this, the National Unity Party will not stop Barzaga from pursuing the action, though Puno believes it will fail due to a lack of backing.
