The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) recorded 1.36 million passengers from October 27 to November 2, down from 1.62 million last year, citing ferry fare increases of 10–15% and shorter holiday breaks. Batangas Port also saw a significant decline, recording only 7,000–8,000 passengers on October 31 compared to its usual 17,000–18,000 during peak season. PPA General Manager Jay Santiago said some travelers may have postponed trips to the November 14–18 long weekend coinciding with the ASEAN Summit. Meanwhile, PITX recorded 1.68 million passengers, higher than last year’s 1.43 million, as more commuters opted for public transportation. NAIA also posted a slight increase, serving 1,003,714 passengers compared to 992,762 last year.
