Apple CEO John Ternus announced a partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) to distribute 170,000 MacBook Neo devices to teachers and staff across 16,400 public K-12 schools nationwide. DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara said the initiative aims to strengthen teaching capabilities, classroom engagement, and student learning outcomes. The deployment will be part of the DepEd Computerization Program, which provides schools with updated technology, software, and training. Teachers will also gain access to the Apple Education Community, featuring instructional resources and more than 70 lesson plans created by Filipino educators. The MacBook Neo’s AI features, long battery life, and productivity tools are expected to support technology-assisted teaching.
