The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) opened a new Authentication Hub at Alturas Mall in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, on October 30, allowing residents to process documents without traveling to Cebu or Manila. The facility is the 14th of its kind among 42 DFA Consular Offices nationwide, offering authentication and apostille services for birth certificates, academic records, and professional licenses. It is also expected to serve residents of neighboring provinces, including Leyte and Masbate. The new hub aims to save applicants time and transportation costs while helping OFWs, students, and professionals prepare documents for overseas employment, education, and other transactions. Apostille certification verifies document signatures, official capacities, and seals for recognition in participating foreign countries.
