Twelve cities in Metro Manila, along with Pateros, have been dumping waste at a privately owned landfill in Rodriguez, Rizal, which collapsed on February 20.
The landfill, operated by Green Leaf Solid Waste Management Inc., has a history of alleged labor violations and exploitation of workers.
Lawmakers from the Makabayan bloc called the collapse a serious environmental and health hazard, urging investigations by the House committees on natural resources and labor.
Access to the site is restricted, with private security deployed, and at least 50 people are reported missing.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has halted operations at Phase 5 of the six-hectare landfill and barred public entry.
