President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to modernizing airports and upgrading infrastructure to boost connectivity, regional development, and economic growth.
Speaking at Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) 85th anniversary, he led the unveiling of the airline’s new Airbus A350-1000, highlighting fleet modernization and long-haul travel expansion.
Marcos cited ongoing projects, including new passenger terminals in Siargao, Davao, Caticlan, Laguindingan, and Bohol-Panglao airports, as well as Manila Airport upgrades in partnership with the private sector.
He emphasized that improving aviation infrastructure enhances trade, tourism, investment, and national progress while showcasing Filipino culture and hospitality.
The new Airbus A350-1000, the first in Southeast Asia, also supports sustainability with reduced fuel consumption and lower carbon emissions.
