Manila Water achieved 100% compliance with government wastewater standards in November 2025 across all 28 of its sewage treatment plants, surpassing the 95% regulatory target.
The standards cover key indicators such as biochemical oxygen demand, oil and grease, total suspended solids, surfactants, and fecal coliform, ensuring safe discharge into waterways.
The company recently inaugurated the Hinulugang Taktak Sewage Treatment Plant in Antipolo, which can treat up to 16 million liters of wastewater daily and supports river and park rehabilitation.
Manila Water is expanding its East Zone services by increasing treatment capacity, extending networks, and maintaining strict effluent compliance to protect rivers and promote climate resilience.
As of October 2025, the company has 361,177 sewer connections and continues investing in projects to improve sanitation and reduce pollution.
