The Malabon City government and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) inaugurated a modern public utility vehicle (PUV) stop in Barangay Hulong Duhat to improve commuter safety and accessibility.
The facility, developed with the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board, and Move as One Coalition, includes ramps for persons with disabilities, benches, route maps, CCTV cameras, lighting, and bike-friendly amenities like repair stations and charging docks.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval described the project as a symbol of modern and inclusive change for the city.
DOTr Undersecretary Mark Steven Pastor said these stops would set a nationwide standard for future transport infrastructure.
Malabon now hosts two of the six new PUV stops launched across Metro Manila, with the other located in Barangay Longos.
