Ramil Madriaga, whose affidavit alleges he handled funds for VP Sara Duterte, is ready to appear before authorities if summoned, his lawyer, Atty. Raymund Palad confirmed.
Palad clarified that they did not intend for the affidavit to be included in impeachment complaints, learning of its inclusion only through news reports.
The affidavit is supported by three mobile phones held by the court, containing call logs, texts, photos, and other evidence that could corroborate Madriaga’s claims.
For his safety, Palad said they plan to request Madriaga’s inclusion in the Witness Protection Program due to an alleged bounty on his life in detention.
Madriaga’s lawyer emphasized that he will appear before Congress, the Senate, or the Ombudsman if subpoenaed, and precautions have been taken to secure him from potential threats in jail.
