The ICC prosecution has asked the court to admit the pre-recorded testimonies of three additional witnesses in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s crimes against humanity case. Identified as P-1097, P-1170, and P-1318, their testimonies reportedly cover alleged drug war killings, the use of narco-lists, and police operations involving claims of nanlaban, evidence planting, and cover-ups. Prosecutors said the testimonies are supported by documents and could shorten court proceedings while allowing the defense to cross-examine the witnesses. The request adds to several previously submitted witness testimonies in the case. Duterte’s trial is scheduled to begin on November 30, with reported deaths ranging from at least 6,000 in government records to over 30,000 in human rights estimates.
