Upgrade Energy Philippines Inc. (UGEP) has been awarded green lane certification by the Board of Investments (BOI) for its renewable energy projects valued at P3.62 billion.
The projects include the 56.77-megawatt Cabangan solar project in Zambales and the 47-megawatt Pontevedra solar project in Capiz.
The green lane certification enables UGEP to fast-track the approval and processing of necessary permits.
These projects are expected to generate 331 jobs during construction and provide long-term positions in operations and maintenance.
In addition to job creation, the projects will contribute to local infrastructure and community development, with the potential to reduce carbon emissions and power thousands of homes.
