Senator Bong Go announced his commitment to enhance the compensation, job security, and benefits for barangay officials during the Liga ng mga Barangay National Congress at the SMX Convention Center.
He introduced Senate Bill 197, known as the Magna Carta for Barangay, which aims to recognize barangay leaders as regular government employees.
The congress brought together 4,000 barangay officials from across the country, highlighting their crucial role in grassroots governance, especially in disaster preparedness and socioeconomic development.
Go pledged to support initiatives that improve infrastructure, disaster resilience, and the overall quality of life in communities.
The event was attended by various national and regional Liga officials, emphasizing a unified effort to empower local leaders.
