Asenso Manileño, Manila’s leading local political party, announced its official slate for the May 2025 elections during a convention at the San Andres Sports Complex on Friday.
The party is backing reelectionist Mayor Honey Lacuna, who serves as party president, and Vice Mayor Yul Servo.
Former mayor Isko Moreno is expected to challenge Lacuna, having previously been mentored by her father, former vice mayor Danilo Lacuna.
The convention also introduced candidates for six congressional districts and 36 city council seats, including Manny Lopez, who is running for congressman in the First District.
Asenso Manileño currently holds a majority in the city council, with 20 out of 36 councilors.
