Calocan Rep. Edgar Erice slammed the Marcos administration for mishandling the investigation into anomalous flood control projects, criticizing the collapse of the Palace-created Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
He noted the resignations of three key members—Magalong, Singson, and Fajardo—left only Chairman Andres Reyes Jr., effectively paralyzing the commission.
Erice cited the lack of funding, personnel, and enforcement authority, as well as the absence or silence of key figures linked to the alleged corruption, including the late Cathy Cabral and former officials like Zaldy Co and Manuel Bonoan.
He also questioned why Cabinet members implicated in the projects were never investigated and criticized the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee for losing interest in the matter.
Erice urged President Marcos to provide a clear explanation, warning that the controversy is undermining public trust and business confidence.
