Former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Leal Guo has been transferred to the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City following her conviction for qualified human trafficking.
She, along with co-accused Jaimielyn Santos Cruz and Rachelle Joan Malonzo Carreon, was escorted from Pasig City Jail and will undergo a 60-day Reception and Diagnostic Clinic (RDC) process before joining the regular dormitory at the Maximum-Security Camp.
Guo and five other accused were sentenced to life imprisonment and fined P2 million by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court on November 20.
The RDC process includes quarantine, medical examinations, orientation, and assessments to determine the psychological and physical needs of newly-committed inmates.
Guo had previously faced preventive suspension and dismissal over alleged involvement in illegal gambling and POGO-related activities before being charged with human trafficking.
