ALAS PILIPINAS WOMEN FALL TO TAIWAN, EXIT AVC VOLLEYBALL CUP

Alas Pilipinas Women’s Volleyball Team bowed out of the AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup after suffering a straight-sets loss to the Chinese Taipei Women’s Volleyball Team, 25-16, 25-14, 25-10, in Candon City, Ilocos Sur.

The defeat ended the Filipinas’ hopes of reaching the semifinals, finishing pool play with two wins and three losses.

Team captain Alyssa Valdez cited the squad’s limited two-week preparation and the experience of their opponents as factors in the loss.

Despite challenges that included player withdrawals and the absence of head coach Tai Bundit due to injury, the team remained competitive throughout the tournament.

Interim coach Shaq delos Santos said the campaign provided valuable lessons as the team prepares for future international competitions.
