AGONCILLO CREATES TASK FORCE AGAINST COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS

The Municipality of Agoncillo, Batangas, has established the Municipal Anti-Illicit Trade Task Force and the Municipal Anti-Illicit Trade Regulation Unit to combat counterfeit and illicit products.

The initiative aims to protect consumers, support legitimate businesses, safeguard government revenues, and promote local economic development.

The regulation unit will monitor compliance with tobacco and vapor product laws and recommend sanctions against violators, including repeat offenders.

Meanwhile, the task force brings together local government offices, law enforcement, national agencies, and private sector representatives to strengthen enforcement and public awareness.

Mayor Cinderella Valenton-Reyes said the move reinforces the town’s commitment to building a safe, responsible, and orderly community.
