The municipal government has procured 40 brand-new Toyota Tamaraw FX vehicles using its share of tobacco excise tax funds under Republic Act No. 7171.
Mayor Joseph Simon Valdez said 36 vehicles will be distributed to the town’s 36 barangays, while four will be used by the municipal government.
The vehicles are intended to improve public transportation and help barangays deliver services to residents.
They will also be used to transport agricultural products and assist farmers in accessing essential services and government programs.
The procurement was funded by the municipality’s 2023 tobacco excise tax share and supported by the municipal council led by Vice Mayor Eduardo Toquero and Barangay League President Napoleon Cortez.
