The procurement was credited to the efforts of Energy Secretary Sharon Garin and her team.
The Philippines will also continue receiving a steady supply of coal from Indonesia.
President Marcos confirmed that the country’s crude oil supply is sufficient to last until June 30, 2026, supported by a 45-day fuel reserve and an additional 1 million barrels as a buffer stock.
Recently, over 700,000 barrels of Russian crude arrived, highlighting the country’s reliance on imported oil amid Middle East tensions.
