Parañaque Rep. Brian Raymund Yamsuan urged PhilHealth to step up its information campaign to inform Filipinos about the benefits available under the national health insurance program, including YAKAP and Z Benefits.
He noted that many citizens remain unaware they are automatically covered under the Universal Health Care Law or unsure where to access services and free medicines.
Yamsuan suggested increasing PhilHealth’s social media presence and coordinating with local government units for community-based information drives.
Senator Erwin Tulfo supported the call, emphasizing that weak public awareness undermines PhilHealth’s goal of making healthcare accessible and affordable.
The House contingent also proposed adding P60 billion to PhilHealth’s budget, bringing its total subsidy to P113 billion for 2026 to improve benefits.
