Vice President Sara Duterte visited Davao Oriental on October 11 to personally console victims of the recent twin earthquakes that struck the province.
She met with bereaved families in Mati City and pledged the Office of the Vice President’s support through timely assistance and rehabilitation efforts.
Duterte emphasized the importance of community resilience and reminded residents to practice earthquake safety measures like “duck, cover, and hold.”
She also encouraged everyone to prepare a “Go Bag” for emergency evacuations.
The earthquakes, including a 7.4-magnitude tremor, have affected over 74,000 families and caused seven deaths, according to the NDRRMC.
