US FUNDING SET FOR SUBIC PORT, PUBLIC WI-FI EXPANSION

The United States will provide support for improving port facilities in Subic Bay and expanding public Wi-Fi access across the Philippines.

The funding will increase berth and dry dock capacity for ship repairs in Subic and support a pilot program for artificial intelligence-enhanced Wi-Fi access points nationwide.

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency also said studies for a nickel-cobalt processing facility and the Subic-Clark-Batangas-Manila railway are nearing completion.

The projects were announced during the Luzon Economic Corridor Investment Forum in Taguig, which gathered more than 600 investors, business leaders, and government officials.

U.S. officials said the initiatives aim to boost economic growth, create jobs, strengthen supply chains, and deepen economic ties between the Philippines and the United States.
