SAN JUAN KICKS OFF HEALTH DRIVE FOR YOUNG STUDENTS

San Juan City launched the regional kickoff of the “Eskwela Kalusugan: Bawat Bata Malusog sa NCR” campaign on Tuesday to fight child malnutrition and promote preventive health care.

Held at Pinaglabanan Elementary School, the event was led by Mayor Francis Zamora and DOH Metro Manila regional director Lester Tan, with support from DepEd officials.

The school-based program focuses on Kindergarten and Grade 1 students, offering medical and dental services, immunizations, nutrition screening, and PhilHealth registration.

It forms part of the Nutrition Month celebration and aims to significantly reduce child stunting rates nationwide—from 27 percent to 13.5 percent.

Officials emphasized the campaign’s role in supporting children’s long-term health and academic success.
