SAN JUAN CITY ENGAGES OFFICIALS AND HEALTH WORKERS IN MPOX DISCUSSION

San Juan City, in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), held the country’s first face-to-face town hall meeting on mpox at City Hall on Tuesday.

The event aimed to educate elected officials, healthcare workers, and barangay health workers about mpox, a viral disease caused by the Monkeypox virus.

Mayor Francis Zamora, along with DOH officials, emphasized the importance of accurate information to prevent misinformation and reduce fear.

The meeting, which was also streamed live on Facebook, addressed current updates on mpox and strategies for effective prevention.

DOH Regional Director Dr. Rio Magpantay praised San Juan’s preparedness and the significance of such educational initiatives in combating the disease.
