REMULLA BROTHERS TURN DOWN P1B BRIBE IN FLOOD CONTROL PROBE

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla revealed that he and Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla were offered P1 billion to halt the investigation into the anomalous flood control projects, but they rejected the bribe.

The government has already frozen over P20 billion linked to the scandal, and detention facilities have been readied for those ordered arrested, including at least 15 DPWH officials and Sunwest Corp. personnel.

President Marcos has instructed authorities to explore all legal avenues to bring back resigned lawmaker Zaldy Co, who is reportedly hiding in Portugal, despite the lack of an extradition treaty.

Remulla said alternative measures, including coordination with INTERPOL and international agencies, are being considered to repatriate Co.

He also assured the public that more cases will be filed as the investigation into flood control anomalies continues.
