Rachelle Ann Go returns to Manila to play Fantine in the “Les Misérables World Tour Spectacular,” bringing new depth to the role now that she is a mother of two.
She first played Fantine in 2016 after her West End experience in “Miss Saigon,” and says motherhood has made it easier to connect with the character’s strength and vulnerability.
The musical concert version runs at The Theatre in Solaire, Parañaque City, until March 1 and features Earl Carpenter, Lea Salonga, Red Concepcion, and Emily Bautista.
Go praised the concert format, noting that the music and performances remain powerful even without the original show’s revolving stage.
She emphasized that Fantine’s story resonates even more deeply with her now, allowing her to convey the character’s heartbreak with authenticity on stage.
