The Quezon City government, led by Mayor Joy Belmonte, recorded the highest revenue among local government units in 2024, according to the Commission on Audit (COA).
COA’s 2024 Annual Financial Report showed that Quezon City generated P31.434 billion in revenue, up from P29.143 billion in 2023, making it the top earner among 1,694 LGUs nationwide.
The report noted that LGU revenues came from various sources, including taxes, shares from national revenues, and income from services and businesses, although it did not provide detailed breakdowns per LGU.
A separate COA audit report showed that Quezon City’s revenue growth was largely driven by higher real property tax collections, which reached P10.32 billion in 2024, as well as increased collections from socialized housing beneficiaries.
Other LGUs with the highest revenues in 2024 included Makati, Manila, Taguig, Davao City, and Pasig.
