President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and 44 national agencies to assist local governments in preparing for Super Typhoon Nando.
Authorities urged the public to stay alert and follow official warnings as Nando is expected to bring heavy rains, flooding, and landslides.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) called on local officials to enforce preemptive evacuations and strengthen precautionary measures in high-risk areas.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) warned that urban and low-lying communities, as well as mountainous areas, face heightened risk.
Nando, with maximum winds of 185 kph, is forecasted to exit the Philippine area by September 23.
