President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed satisfaction over what he termed as a “political reconciliation” with former vice president Leni Robredo.
The two briefly met during the inauguration of the Sorsogon Sports Arena, where they shook hands and exchanged smiles, marking their first public interaction since the 2022 presidential race.
Senate President Francis Escudero facilitated the meeting, describing it as symbolic and a positive step toward mending political divisions.
Robredo, who is running for mayor of Naga City, was unable to attend the full event due to prior commitments.
Escudero emphasized that the gesture sets an example for politicians to reconcile differences.
