PNP SETS STRATEGIES TO TACKLE “GUERRILA” POGOS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is preparing for operations against illegal “guerrilla-type” Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) following President Marcos’ ban on the industry due to its association with crimes like human trafficking and murder.

PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said these operations are expected to move into small residential areas and subdivisions.

The PNP is working with other law enforcement agencies and has established a special task group, STG Skimmer, to track down illegal POGO activities.

Fajardo noted that locals are sometimes involved in these operations due to their familiarity with the area.

Meanwhile, the court trial for former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, accused of qualified trafficking, continues with her petition for bail being heard later this month.
