The Philippine National Police (PNP) is stepping up efforts against online harassment and exploitation of children, particularly those involving artificial intelligence.
PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. has tasked the Anti-Cybercrime Group to investigate reports of technology-enabled abuses on social media.
Child rights groups have raised concerns over deepfake content, manipulated sexual images, and impersonation scams targeting Filipino minors.
The PNP said it will coordinate with government agencies to prevent online harm and urged the public to report suspicious activity.
Authorities also emphasized that child protection starts at home, encouraging parents, guardians, and communities to help safeguard minors from online abuse.
