The Philippines received international recognition at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2025 in Singapore for its efforts to protect overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and improve healthcare access.
The Department of Migrant Workers’ (DMW) Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIRTIP) program won Campaign of the Year under the Labor Category for its crackdown on illegal recruiters and trafficking networks.
The OFW Hospital in Pampanga was honored as Public Facility of the Year under the Health Category for providing free specialized medical care to over 80,000 OFWs and their families.
The hospital is expanding services with a new cancer care center to support OFWs with chronic illnesses.
DMW officials dedicated the awards to OFWs worldwide, highlighting the government’s commitment to their welfare under President Marcos Jr.’s leadership.
