The Philippines pledged $200,000 to the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) for 2026, reaffirming its support for global humanitarian efforts.
The contribution was announced during the High-Level Pledging Event on Dec. 10, highlighting CERF’s role in delivering rapid, life-saving aid to conflict-affected areas.
Philippine UN Ambassador Enrique Manalo emphasized the country’s evolution from a modest contributor to a reliable donor and partner of the UN.
Manalo highlighted the importance of middle-income countries like the Philippines in driving multilateral action for vulnerable populations.
He also outlined priorities for CERF, including anticipatory action, expanding the donor base, and investing in climate-smart financing tools.
