The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has expanded its coverage to include 343 medical services under its Outpatient Emergency Care Benefit (OECB) package.
This move aims to support acute care for patients in emergency rooms who do not require hospital admission.
Covered services include procedures like nebulization, oxygen therapy, CT scans, X-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs, IV fluids, blood transfusions, and pregnancy tests.
PhilHealth also covers a wide range of medical conditions, from fever, burns, and dizziness to mental health issues, seizures, chest pain, and obstetric or gynecological concerns.
The expanded coverage ensures patients can access essential emergency care without worrying about out-of-pocket expenses.
