PASIG COURT DENIES BAIL FOR QUIBOLOY, CO-ACCUSED IN TRAFFICKING CASE

A Pasig City court has denied the bail petitions of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and five co-accused in a qualified human trafficking case involving sexual abuse and labor exploitation.

In a 23-page ruling dated July 20, the Pasig RTC Branch 159 said the prosecution presented strong evidence of guilt against the accused.

The decision affects Quiboloy and co-defendants Sylvia Cemañes, Paulene Canada, Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, and Ingrid Canada.

While bail was denied, the court emphasized that the case is still undergoing trial and no verdict has been reached.

Quiboloy is also facing a separate complaint for child abuse under RA 7610 filed before a Quezon City court.
