‘PAOLO’ PROMPTS PAGASA TO RAISE SIGNAL NO. 1 IN EASTERN LUZON

PAGASA raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 over parts of Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, and Catanduanes due to Tropical Depression Paolo’s expected strong winds.

These areas may experience minimal to minor impacts within 36 hours, with the possibility of Signal No. 3 or higher if Paolo intensifies.

Heavy to intense rains are forecasted from Oct. 2 to 4 across several northern provinces, raising concerns about flooding and landslides.

Paolo is currently east of Catanduanes, moving westward at 20 kph, and is expected to make landfall over Isabela or northern Aurora by Oct. 3.

The storm may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday morning, though its track could shift south depending on weather conditions.
