Senator Robinhood Padilla has been appointed to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, replacing Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
The move was approved during Wednesday’s Senate session after Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito formally nominated Padilla as part of the minority bloc.
No reason was given for dela Rosa’s replacement, though he has been absent from sessions since November 10.
Dela Rosa faces alleged International Criminal Court charges for crimes against humanity linked to his role in the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.
The Blue Ribbon Committee investigates the accountability of public officers, including high-profile cases such as Oplan Tokhang.
