The Philippines received 329,000 barrels of diesel from Malaysia as part of government efforts to secure fuel supplies from non-Middle East sources.
The shipment is part of over 1.5 million barrels expected in the coming weeks to strengthen the country’s fuel buffer.
The Department of Energy said additional deliveries from Japan, India, North Asia, and Oman via Singapore are also scheduled.
Officials said the move aims to protect the country from global supply disruptions, particularly amid tensions in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, fuel inventories remain stable, with the government maintaining more than 50 days of supply as of early April.
