The Philippines still has ₱2.2 billion available in its calamity fund to support disaster recovery, including for areas hit by Typhoon Uwan, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said on Monday.
OCD Deputy Administrator Bernardo Alejandro IV assured the public that the funds will be judiciously allocated to those most in need.
At the same time, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) still has ₱2.3 billion worth of relief stockpiles.
Shelter repair kits and ₱156 million in medical supplies are also ready for distribution to affected communities. For 2026, the House approved a ₱ 29.25 billion calamity fund, with half earmarked for aid, relief, and rehabilitation, and the other half for repair and reconstruction.
President Marcos has declared a one-year state of calamity following Typhoon Tino, allowing faster humanitarian assistance, price controls, and access to calamity loans.
