Navotas City kicked off the holiday season with the lighting of its giant Christmas tree and fireworks at the Citywalk and Amphitheater, led by Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Rep. Tobias Tiangco.
The ceremony also launched the Navotas Christmas Bazaar featuring 35 local merchants and included the introduction and sashing of the Mutya ng Navotas 2026 candidates.
Celebrations highlighted community-centered programs, including the 5th Project Angel Tree, which provided grocery packs and school supplies to 100 child laborers and their families.
The city also distributed tool kits to graduates of the Navotas Vocational Training and Assessment Institute, supporting over 140 beneficiaries in massage therapy and refrigeration courses.
Mayor Tiangco emphasized that Christmas in Navotas symbolizes hope, unity, and compassion, reinforcing programs that help residents face life’s challenges.
