MAYOR MORENO URGES PROTESTERS TO RESPECT MANILA’S PUBLIC PROPERTY

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno reminded protesters that freedom of expression is a right, but it should not compromise the city’s cleanliness or waste public funds.

His statement came after the “Baha sa Luneta 2.0” rally, where participants marched to Mendiola calling for accountability in flood control corruption.

Moreno expressed frustration on Facebook over vandalism along Padre Burgos Street following the protest, despite prior warnings from authorities.

He criticized the irony of protesters demanding proper use of funds while damaging public property.

City engineers and public works employees have since restored the defaced walls.
