President Marcos has declared April 10 to 16 of every year as Economy, Planning, and Development Week, with April 10 designated as DEPDev Day, under Proclamation No. 1205.
The proclamation repeals the previous Socio-Economic Planning and Development Week in December and aims to promote public awareness of socioeconomic planning for inclusive and sustainable national development.
The Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) will lead the observance, organizing programs, projects, and activities for the celebration.
All government agencies, government-owned corporations, state universities, local government units, NGOs, and the private sector are encouraged to actively participate and support the week-long events.
The move follows Republic Act No. 12145, which reorganized NEDA into DEPDev to strengthen its role as the primary policy, planning, and coordinating body on national economic matters.
