President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the nationwide launch of Brigada Eskwela in Malolos, Bulacan, ahead of the June 16 opening of School Year 2025–2026.
Joined by Education Secretary Sonny Angara, Marcos inspected internet upgrades and classroom improvements at Barihan and Tibagan Elementary Schools, including Starlink-powered connectivity and Khan Academy-integrated lessons.
Angara emphasized the role of communities and parents in preparing schools, while also noting the lack of funding for classroom lot procurement, pending local government action.
The Department of Health distributed medical and disaster-readiness kits to schools, offering free health services to teachers and students.
Angara also vowed stricter enforcement of the senior high school voucher program after refunding P65 million from 54 schools flagged for anomalies.
