President Marcos led the groundbreaking of the Korea Agricultural Machinery Industry Complex (KAMIC) in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, the country’s first large-scale farm equipment factory.
The $100-million, 20-hectare facility will assemble and manufacture tractors, seeders, and other machinery designed for Philippine farms.
Marcos said the project will modernize farming, increase productivity, improve crop quality, and raise farmers’ incomes while reducing reliance on imported equipment.
He thanked South Korea for investing in the Philippines and assured protection for their investments.
The event also featured government and Korean officials, during which Marcos distributed agricultural inputs and machinery to local farmers.
