Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed disappointment after Vice President Sara Duterte claimed they were never friends.
Speaking at the ASEAN Summit, Marcos said he was unsure of their relationship following her remarks and had always believed they were allies.
Duterte, on the other hand, declared she would never team up with the Marcoses again, citing they were never close even before becoming running mates.
Duterte resigned from Marcos’ Cabinet in June after months of political tension.
Marcos clarified that Duterte was not made caretaker during his trip to Laos, as she is no longer part of the administration.
