Malacañang warned that the circulation of President Marcos’ fake medical records should not end with a simple apology.
Palace Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that the law must be enforced and those responsible held accountable, noting the wide reach and impact of online content.
The vlogger, Jack Argota, who allegedly spread the fake document, appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation, which is handling the case.
Castro stressed that creating and sharing misleading content affects not just the subject but the public and constitutes fake news.
While the Palace will let the investigation run its course, they reiterated that violations must be addressed, leaving any legal action to the NBI.
